2011 documentary “Lost Paradise” takes a look at the early days of surfing in Raglan, including the discovery of what was later to be regarded as one of the best surf spots in the world.
Directed by Andrew McAlpine, “Children of the Sun” is a cult 1968 documentary that follows a group of young surfers who hit the road in an epic tour of New Zealand and Australia’s top surf spots. This of course requires a visit to Raglan where the world-famous left-hand break is given a ride, set to a groovy ’60s soundtrack.
